Dental Planning for a Lifetime of Smiles

Dental Planning for a Lifetime of Smiles......

It’s hard to put a value on a smile… But we all know how it lights up a face. When a grandmother smiles at her newborn grand child… when a young woman looks at the love of her life... When an executive finishes a top notch presentation and the board accepts it. These are times that a smile can say it all.

We want to be able to give you that smile for your lifetime. We have the ability and training from prevention to rebuilding. Let us talk to you about planning for the stages of your life.

One of the earliest and best things that we can teach you is the prevention of dental disease. Of the 3 major dental problems, 2 of them can be prevented almost 100 % of the time.

Dental Decay is the most common childhood illness in the world. Dental decay is caused by germs or bacteria. If we can show you how to minimize the germs, we can teach you how to prevent decay. The germs or bacteria cause the destruction and holes in teeth by producing acid when you eat sugar. The approach to decreasing and controlling decay is by reducing the plaque bacteria, decreasing acid production and promoting hard enamel.

Gum disease is also caused by bacteria. By removing the bacteria on a regular basis (at least once a day) the gums can be healthy. The trick is removing all the bacteria. It takes more than just brushing, it takes flossing too. If you’ve already experienced the ravages of gum disease, it will take even more to clean all the nooks and crannies. We can help you with all of that.

The third cause of destruction is excessive wear of teeth. This is caused by the way our teeth come together and by what we do with our teeth. Teeth are meant to chew, not to be tools. This is one area that you have less control over than the dental destruction caused by bacteria. We can examine the bite to determine ways to decrease the wear of teeth.

Things work out better with planning. Let us help you plan your oral health and reach the dental goals you want.
